Product Safety Assessment and Management
Product Stewardship includes managing the health, safety and environmental (HSE) aspects of a product throughout its total life cycle. As a member of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) and the American Chemistry Council (ACC), Bayer MaterialScience supports and participates in two important chemical industry initiatives; Responsible Care® and the Global Product Strategy (GPS). Both initiatives aim to ensure that society continues to benefit from our innovations while health, safety, and the environment are protected and sustained.
In line with our commitments to Responsible Care® and GPS, worldwide BayCare® site users can access HSE information for Bayer MaterialScience products, and customers can learn more about how to handle them safely with resources like Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and Product Safety Summaries.
Each Product Safety Summary features straight-forward explanations of potential hazards and exposure scenarios, as well as suitable use, safe handling, and risk management information.
Information sharing between industry, customers, and stakeholders is a key element of the GPS. Therefore, certain Product Safety Summaries are coordinated between two or more ACC associated manufacturers, and/or international agencies. Doing so helps to ensure that the information presented is as accurate, up-to-date, and reliable as possible.
